Electronic business implies all activities undertaken by legal entities or natural persons to exchange goods or services, thereby using computers and contemporary communication technology. The application of electronic business implies such a restructuring and advancement of business processes which will enable the best use of modern information and communication technologies. Exchange of goods or services is followed by exchange of information, often by means of electronic transaction of nominated content and meaning. Electronic trade makes a great part of electronic business.

 

Electronic business is a precondition for participation of Croatian economy sector on global markets through offer of Croatian goods and services with extended possibility for purchase of products and services on the global market. Innovation and acceleration of business processes reduce costs and increase efficacy. Electronic business is infrastructure for better quality monitoring of use of products and services, rising quality level and increase in the number of customers. Electronic business in companies represents a working environment for facilitated management and development of knowledge and increase in creativity and innovations.

 

Overall, electronic business accelerates economy networking and increases overall national competitiveness. Therefore, the key effects of the Strategy for the development of electronic business in RoC for the period 2007-2010 refer to the increase in competitiveness of economy and increase in efficacy of the public sector.
